Today we have made a small, but important change. To better represent what we've done and where we are going as a company, we have changed our name to 8020 Media. Publishing magazines is a critical part of our business, but there is so much more going on within the community. A lot of this activity happens online, with people interacting with other users, entering weekly challenges and online events, and sharing and reviewing stories and photos by other members. But it also happens in the real world with gallery shows, sponsored events, and community-driven meetups.
So as of today, we are now known simply as 8020 Media. Not a big change, but hopefully one that better represents what we do as a company.

It was two and a half years ago when Paul Cloutier first met Halsey Minor and they started talking about the way the Internet and online communities could make magazines better. That was the start of 8020 Publishing, and Paul has done so much since then to help this company grow and to create great web sites and magazines. Now after two and half years (he claims it is the longest he's ever worked at one place), Paul is taking time away from 8020 Publishing to work on new personal projects. He will still be involved as an important advisor to our company, but his day-to-day responsibilities are over. Paul is deeply talented, level-headed, and a true joy to work with. Thanks for everything Paul.

As written in this aloha blog post from Everywhere's Editor-in-Chief, Todd Lappin, we have decided to put Everywhere Magazine on hold. There is no denying the high-quality of each issue of Everywhere, and we are grateful to the thousands who contributed their personal stories and photos. The Everywhere website will still be a place to share travel stories and photos, but this next issue will the be the last one for the foreseeable future. The opportunity for us now is to continue to improve on the JPG platform - to build it out further in new and exciting ways for the JPG community and for future titles based on the same model of community involvement. JPG just reached a great milestone with over 10 million pageviews in July, and refocusing our efforts will only help JPG and all future titles from 8020 Publishing.

The 12th annual Webby Awards has seleted JPG Magazine as an Official Honoree in the Magazine category. The Webby awards honor excellence on the internet and this year the awards received nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide. We're thrilled that JPG Magazine was among the honorees and couldn't be more proud of recognition the JPG community has been receiving.

Samir Husni, known to most as Mr. Magazine, has included Everywhere Magazine in his list of the top 5 notable magazine launches of 2007. The 5 honorees were narrowed from an original list of 30 new magazine launches. Mr. Magazine briefly describes his criteria for these selections:
"The [choices] reflect my opinion and belief that these titles are innovative and have the potential to make an impact on the industry."
We are quite honored to be selected and want to again thank the Everywhere community for their contribution in the success of Everywhere Magazine. Thanks!
